Long drive to Jackson

This was a long day in the saddle, so to speak. We started out early to get to Devil's Tower before the hoards of damned tourists descended. It's quite something to see it in the distance.

It's pretty cool when you get closer as well.

We didn't want to walk the paved trail around the Tower, so we took a hike on a couple of trails. There was a nice amount of elevation, but we both made it just fine. Some views from that little jaunt:

They had a selfie stand at the trailhead... What a cool idea!

After the Tower, we were off on the long, long drive to Wilson, Wyoming. Not much to say about it; Dan drove and we listened to the first Walt Longmire book to get us in the mood. There were some amazing things to see as we went up to 9500 feet, back down, and back up.

Had to stop for ice cream, and we were inspired.

We are glad to be in the same place for a few nights. We are here until Sunday, when we pick up our friend, Rebecca, and head to Ring Lake Ranch for the retreat.
