Weaverville to Bloomington
We survived the first leg! We celebrated National Bourbon Day on the way through Kentucky by stopping for a bottle of Woodford - we also got Margaritas for the non-bourbon drinkers. Those will be valuable later in this trip. Our first planned stop was the Sculpture Trails Outdoor Museum in Solsberry, IN. I envisioned a nice hike seeing wonderful artistic creations, but I was disappointed. There were a few small installations, like this iron pig:
He was not in good shape and would not move until poked. I suspect a nearby hawk invited him for dinner.
But tomorrow is the day for photo ops with really large creations. The list is too long to include here, but there will be photos! How can you not be excited to see the world's largest wind chimes or the largest rocking chair? It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity - because I strongly doubt we will ever return! Stay tuned...
